This week is about recognizing one's individual worth. This is such a tough thing to do. Just this week I found myself saying so many negative things about who I am, what I look like, and that 'it' (or I) just don't matter. I am so grateful to have been made aware of these thoughts by the lesson. I love my life, and I'm extremely blessed to have an adoring husband - who see's me as my Heavenly Father sees me. Always willing to give, and love, he is a great father to three gorgeous children who are amazing in their own right. With all of this it is impossible for me not to have some amazing talent - right?!
It is so easy to see this in my Beehive class - the struggles of being young, and the possibilities just waiting to be snatched and blossom. Today I hope to have my girls see how others truly see them - amazing, beautiful, spiritual, talented, and of royal birth. We will be playing a game I learned in a H.S. leadership conference (Thanks Lori!!). But, of coarse, changed up a bit.
A book mark with the words "Princess _____" and the cute picture of a crown will be passed around the room where each one in the class (I have 8-9 in my class) will write one word about that princess that makes her unique, and it can't already be on the bookmark. Then at the end of class each girl is going to commit to one-two weakness(es) to work on - for each one they will pick a bead to put on their book mark ribbon. I am going to refer to them as princesses through out the lesson.
In any case this should be a lot of fun today.
